Ranger 2000, I have put new heads on it now I am not getting fuel or fire. Truck ran about a month ago and has been sitting without a battery. I doubled checked all the normal things. Could this be something to do with the dog gone theft mode. Engine will spin but nothing else. Help!

if it will turn over but wont fire fuel problem. if it wont even turn over electrical problem.

turn the key on but do no try to start it. listen if the fuel pump is coming on. if the fuel pump didnt come on the is most likely ur problem.

get a load tester and test the battery.

yeh cant hear the fuel pump, but does the anti theft stop the fuel from being distrubited? Dont want to buy a fuel pump if thats not the problem getting short on funds and trying to move this weekend. Thanks for any input!

check the switch for the fuel shut off. (coming from my boss the inerter (sp) switch)

if the pump isnt coming on when u first turn the key on im guessing thats the problem

Ok I found the problem and wanted to tell everyone if they come across this in the future. It was call the PCM fuse. I towed it to the ford dealership this fuse was blown so they replaced and had to reprogram the keys back to the computer. But listen to this....they said I needed new heads and possibly a new motor because it would not crank and compresson was low on 1,2 & 3.....LOL told them to stick it. Towed the truck back home and they had wires in the wrong place from screwing around with it, changed the wires and she fired right up. Since the truck had sat for awhile I let it run tweeked a few things and let the compression built up and now purring like a kitten. Did my own compression test no where near what they were saying. Beware of those so called mechanics at Ford!

I have the same problem on my 1992 xlt ranger I replaced the heads and now it whont start so I checked power to coil pack and there is 12 voits but no spart so I will chesk modgal in cab tommorw
