Re: limp mode in water ???????
Define limp mode while your at it, as it sounds like you are getting something wet that is suppose to be sealed.

Re: limp mode in water ???????
Limp mode is when the computer limits the speed, RPM, and maximum gear based on a detected misfire or transmission problem. It allows to limp home slowly.

Re: limp mode in water ???????
Look to see if you have something disconnected on the intake. Like the top of the air filter box or one of the intake hoses.

Re: limp mode in water ???????
Are you crawling thru these water holes are hitting them with enough force to spray water ever where? because you say it only happens when you hit water, I have to think your getting water into the intake somewhere. Factory air box?

What about the automatic DTRS? Was the wiring changed or is that sensor tucked up in the frame? Maybe its hanging, getting wet and causing problems?
I changed my 97 to a manual. I left the wiring but stuck that sensor in a zip lock bag and zip tied it to the frame.

Re: limp mode in water ???????
It should be down by the frame. I guess about 10-14" back from the back of the engine. Just look for any wiring other than o2 sensors. Being a 95, I dont know if they still ran the A4LD or had the 4r series...
From what I gather from your last post, you first ran thru the puddle at abou 30, and the truck has not ran like it should since....?
I once went thru a flooded part of a street, hauling ass, Got water in my intake and the truck ran like shit for about a week. I think it still had water in the system. Could be a similar situation with yours....?
