Re: Oil Pressure Diagnosis
Those Ranger gauges don't reflect actual oil pressure at all, they are idiot gauges, they are designed to read mid scale when there is like 5-7 psi. Ford did this because too many people were coming in for warranty service claiming that their vehicle had low oil pressure when the engine was warm. Duh, it will go down when warm as opposed to cold, but it cost Ford money explaining the obvious to people. So they cured it.
Hook up a real, mechanical pressure gauge and take a reading if you want to verify system integrity. Odds are, if your oil level is correct your sender is crapping out.
*Dont' use Fram/Pennzoil oil fiters either, they are overly restrictive.
