Default 2011 cabin odor

Hey all, just took my new 2011 in because I can smell anti freeze in the cab with the heat on. Dealer did a pressure test and found no leaks. The resevoir has gone down an inch and I don't think they had it hot when they did it. Am I wrong or will a pressure test not work on the heater core with the thermostat closed?

You still have a warranty. Keep taking it to the dealer(s) (try other dealerships) until it gets fixed. Just my 2cents. No sense in having to deal with problems if the dealer could fix it.

Do you have any residue in the windshield when you run the defrost? Just because you smell antifreeze doesn't mean it's the heater core. Look around the engine bay for any dried antifreeze and defiantly take it to your local dealer for the repairs since its under warranty.

No apparent leaks on floor or fog on windshield, just that smell of hot anti freeze. Nothing in engine bay either. I'm going to take it to another dealer and have them check it. I pressure tested it myself and perhaps it will just take some time to present itself. I got the extended warrantee so I have time.

After the response they gave you on the brakes, I would be going else where anyway.

The pressure test will work with thermostat open or closed. However, clearly they are dumb. Find a dealer that doesn't suck. A very small leak will make a lot of smell.
