Default Fuel Filter question

I'm newish here, I want to do some small things to "tune-up" my truck. I've got a list and top of the list is a new fuel filter. I bought it used with 114k miles on it, not sure if/when it has been changed, so I thought i'd just change it. Seems simple enough, but I was told to use motorcraft and not fram or any others. I went to look up which motorcraft filter my 03 3.0 flex fuel XLT uses and it gave me two options, FG-1039 and FG-1061.....does it matter which one I use, price is the same on e-bay, just want to be correct! Thanks for any help!!

I think the two numbers are because some were not flex fuel.

He may not have one. A lot of the times used vehicles dont ever come with them.

Ford service manual I looked at showed the 3.0 flex was a FG-1039
It showed FG-1061 as the non flex fuel filter
