Default Fuel cell

I'm putting a 5.0 in my truck and will be using it as a daily driver and a track truck. The stock fuel tank is just in my way so I want to put a fuel cell where the spare tire is. I was wandering if anyone has done so. I've searched around and can't really find any. If anyone is out there let me know please.

Some FFT. I'd of mounted it lower and just cutout an access door in the bed.

Look into a bronco 2 fuel tank. It fits between the frame rails with minor mods, is cheap to buy new, and if you have emissions testing is still smog legal. That's the route I went.

How do you have the filler tube? Is it in the bed or were you able to run it to the stock filler cap?

Do you know if you could put the bed back on without cutting a big hole in the bed for the tank

Never looked into it since I don't have one. I found many build threads when searching google of guys putting the tank in a truck with a bed, might be worth it for you to give that a try.

I still have this Bronco II tank (23 gal.) but sold the skid shield......I mocked it up & mounted it in my 94, but it hung to low for my taste in my application.....here's a pic and as you can see, you could do like I was gonna do, and just make a fuel door in the bottom of the bed:

How low do they hang. My truck is lowered 3" in the back. I won't be scraping the ground will I?

i believe the bronco ii tank will be hanging much to low. i am looking for someone who has put an aftermarket tank where the spare tire goes. I am wondering how hard it is to support a fuel cell between the frame and I STILL WANT TO HAVE A BED.
