Decided its time i start my build thread...
I'll start from the begginning.
goy my truck back in febuary, first truck after giving my 1994 grand am to my sister for her first car (i wanted a truck and knew my parents were going to make her buy her own as they did the same to me)
i found this in the clasifieds and called the guy right away, 1995 XLT with the 3.0 2WD but only 85,000 miles on it. went and looked at it the next day with my dad, fell in love afte driving it once, it needed work and that was obvious but i decided it was worth it for only $1,200!
first thing was to fix the breaks, had the Ford dealer ship do it as it was my birthday gift form my parents (they went half in on it for me)
Next was my rear bumper, picked it up from the scrap yard for $40, diamond plated and little to no rust on it, painted it with bed liner and installed it the next weekend.
after, i manager to find some of the "street" bushwacker fender flares at another junk yard for $30, painted those with bed liner to match but before i installed them i had some body work to get done...
being an ohio truck its whole life (daily driver to and from work for the old man i got it off of) it had horrible rust around the rear fenders and the front cab corners, i got to grinding one day and then hit each area with some Rust converter spray from Summit Racing i had picked up, did a great a job. to fill the holes (seems as you grind rust, your truck looses a lot of weight and developed holes...) i used some fiber glass and epoxy which was much easier than i thought it would be, finished off with bondo and primer and color match.
after the body work i painted the bottum third (from the creese down) with the bed liner (yes i like bed liner, easy to work with) and installed fender flares
the most recent mod was my aux reverse lights mounted below each break light, pretty bright, just use them for backing up as night cause i have a short somewhere for the reverse lights and i cant find it.
hope you enjoy this, lots to come... i would like a new front bumper, level her off and throw in some 31x10.5's.
THE DAY I PICKED HER UP... THE GUY POINTING IS WHO I GOT HER FROM
this is a side tool box for an f150, i like it cause if i get a toneau cover i can still use this, mad made the wood part with preasure treated 2x6's
read light, bumper, fender flare and bed liner paint...
most recent pic! what ya'll think?!?
