Looking for my first Ranger, 2005?
Hey guys, i am looking to upgrade my saturn (uggh) to a ranger as a small work truck, maybe light towing, and ski trips once i move out west soon. That said, i found this beauty.
a 2005 ford ranger edge regular cab w/ 46653 miles
The only problem is its not 4x4
are these models hard to find 4x4? I love the look of the edge and its color matched bumpers.
I have to admit power windows and locks would be nice.
any suggestions? im look for reletively new, 2003 and newer, for under 10K
thanks for your help!

4wd regular cab may be hard to find. Do you want a regular cab or ext. cab?

stick to 2003-2007 IMO, and power is an easy option to add later so I would look for 4wd if that's what you want...

Re: Looking for my first Ranger, 2005?
I did not know the Edge came in 2wd. I have a 2005 Edge 4x4 Ext cab. Nice truck. No power windows or locks, but do not care.
It has the 4.0 with 41k on it. No suspension issues yet.

Re: Looking for my first Ranger, 2005?
Power equipment group option, available on all models, my XLT has no power options, but my last XLT did.
4x4 in the Reg Cab model is very rare, and for the most part seem to have the 3.0 not the 4.0.
EDGE/Sport came in both 2wd and 4wd as do XLTs.

Looks like my truck, but I have a lift. Mine is 2wd . Great truck tho. I'd get a ext. cab 4wd if I could get a do-over though.

Re: Looking for my first Ranger, 2005?
Its not that bad to drive a 2wd even more so when you have a stick and Ive never had a problem in all the 2wds I've owned. All you have to do is put a little weight in the back or level the truck and go slow and not gun it and it will move! But Get the super cab Its simple and you have more room in the back than the 4d. But Its everyones own thing I would like a 4wd but money and timeing wasnt right.
