Pretending you are something you aren't is never a good idea. It ruins your credibility when the truth comes to light. As a member of the military, sometimes there are "perks" to it but in a situation such as getting pulled over, it's not a good idea to bring it up. If the officer happens to notice your ID and gives you a break, great. Bringing it up will more than likely just negate whatever benefit you might have gotten from it. JM2C

JM2C | Even if you are the dept's captain, that should never happen though. Laws should be observed by everyone, especially the law enforcement employees, because they know first hand what breaking them can do. |

You're also taking a chance of setting yourself up for more problems with the plate. If they stop you and learn you're not a cop or related, you my find yourself getting a ticket for every thing that is wrong with your truck and more police contact in the future as word spreads between them.
