Re: What brought you to Rangers?
I always loved fords since my grandpa always drove them and my uncle works for them and I saved every penny I ever made so I could get a truck when I was 16. The first truck I drove when I was little was a red 4x4 F-150, but knew I wanted something smaller.
When I was shopping for my truck I was looking for a red 4x4 Ranger. My grandpa was at a dealership and they convinced him to look at a mazda. He drove it home and I went to look at it. when he called me up to come look at it I told him no way; it was way out of my price range. They convinced me to go look at it and told me they would help me out. I went to go look at it and I fell in love!

Re: What brought you to Rangers?
My family has driven nothing but Fords. As a kid I always wanted a Ranger. My first car was my dad's old 1998 F:250 4.6 V8. I loved that thing. Drove the hell out of it and racked it up to 300,000 miles and still ran like a champ. But after I started college I couldn't afford the gas for that hoss anymore. Though the engine was strong, my tranny was starting to slip and the body was starting to rust in some spots. I figured I'd get rid of it while I could before I had to start dumping some serious money into it.
Traded it in for the Ranger I have now. It's a retired fleet truck for a catering business. 2004, 3.slow, 4x2, XL, 120,000 miles. (113,000 when I bought it.) Runs real clean and strong though. All I've done to it so far is throw some new bigger tires on it. Slowly but surely going to make it an all B&W theme.

Re: What brought you to Rangers?
I was driving this
a 1996 F150 5spd w/od less than 90,000 miles Then I had a stroke that left my left side in a weakened state.I no longer felt it was safe for me/mytruck and other drivers to be driving it.(Ididn't want to ruin the truck,as it was xxxtra clean and ran like it just rolled off the showroom floor)and still has some pretty decent resale valueand I traded it in on this
my o4 ranger king cab with a 3.0L 2wd Automatic.

Re: What brought you to Rangers?
My neighbor next door had a '94 4x4 XLT Black that growing up I always liked. Since then he has owned 3 Rangers (leased a couple). My neighbor across the street had a 94 XL 4x2 that he drove the hell out of until last year. He now has a 08 Sport 4x4.
7 years ago when my dad was going to look for a vehicle to replace his 01 CR-V, he was looking for small 2WD four cylinder pickups. Being in a family of four boys we all wanted him to get the Ext. Cab V6, but it was going to strictly be a commuting vehicle so the four cylinder made sense for gas mileage. He found this Ranger that he ended up trading his CR-V in on & they gave him a check for $5,000. It had 67k on the clock and was fairly clean.
2 years later I bought it off of him for $1800, with 120k on the clock. That truck was my pride & joy for my last 2 years of high school and 2 years of college. I recently sold it to my brother for $1,000 with 160K and never had to replace anything on it but ball joints & tires.
My buddy bought a Ranger for a project vehicle for school. A 97 4.0L OHV 4x4 STX from Virginia. Around here with the salt, vehicles tend to rot out so seeing a truck like this in nice shape is rare. When it sat for two years in his driveway I always wanted it, eventually I wanted a 4x4 and my brother needed a vehicle. So i offered $3,000 for the 97 and sold mine to my brother. I always loved the look of the 3rd Gens. This week she's in the shop getting the transmission rebuild, my parents wanted me to sell it but I love my truck. After I get all my maintenance out of the way, I will begin with the Mods.
My dad has never owned any GM vehicle, the reliability has never been there in his eyes & he owned Ford pickups in the past. I see myself as a Ford driver for life, something about the Brand seems very true, very "American" to me.

Re: What brought you to Rangers?
The price was right, it needed a little work (a little more than I expected that is :P), and it was kinda a spur of the moment purchase. I have always wanted a truck!

Re: What brought you to Rangers?
I actually was a jeep guy until i got my first ranger 2 years ago. My last jeep was an 02 Wrangler. Loved it but got tired of people breaking into it constantly and it wasnt that great at towing or pulling . Always liked the Rangers look since 98 and my dad has always had mustangs and ford trucks so unloaded my wrangler daily driver at the auction when i finally got fed up with it and found my Ranger the same day for half of what i just sold my Jeep for and i couldnt be happier. Should have just bought a Ranger from the get go..
R.I.P...lol
The day i bought her home and my dads lightning in the background..

Re: What brought you to Rangers?
well, as for me, I had a Dodge Ram 1500 V6 Magnum 5 speed. Nice truck, I kept it clean (as I do the Ranger), it was white, nice engine, all that....unfortunately almost got in some wrecks with it, being clutch, I would drive my dad in it. I had started in a clutch International Scout 2 and a 1987 dakota. My friend had a Ranger Edge automatic he was willing to trade, so, we traded vehicles. The Ranger has a bed liner, the Dodge Ram doesn't. Always will be a Chevy man though, and Ford, I don't like Dodge much. ( Department Of Delaware Garbage Equipment) Funny how it worked out though
