Possible build
Doing my nightly cruise of the Internet I found this truck. I don know about some of y'all, but I think a long traveled power stroke would make one awesome farm truck. This is possibility my next build with a few changes of course to keep it farm and ranch functional. But hey, the base truck can be had for a few grand, put the work and $$$ and you now have a very capable rig.

That's a decent truck but it would take some serious money to make it fast by any means. I just sold my 97 powerstroke and it was by far the slowest thing I have owned. I would look into a 12 valve cummins the are cheap to build up to make 400-500 hp. You could swap it into the obs ford easily for power. Just my 2 cents from being in the diesel world for along time

7.3 with a turbo. full exhaust and a set of injectors and good tunes will be plenty for what youd need

Not really looking for a fast rig, just bomb proof. Obs fords do not require smog, so a cummins swap could be done if money was no issue. Personally I'm a fan of the 7.3; best power stroke ever made*.

I agree best one ford made. Mine ran like a champ sold it with 217k miles. I just couldn't imagine running it through the deserts like that one is set up to do. A lot of $$$ I would think.

Re: Possible build
Navistar made the 7.3L, not Ford. But yes, it is probably the best engine Ford offered.

My apologies for sounding ignorant. Navistar=international, partnered with ford for the 7.3-6.4. The 6.7 is all ford but I'd argue that it's a ford copy of the newest dmax. 6.0 is a good motor if you like babying it. My fathers super duty is a 6.0 and is doing fine minus the warranty covered issues they're known for.
