With what you guys are talking about repos, i don't get how the us companies, after the housing fiasco, still give out credit to hobos and their dog.

It's much harder to get a loan in canada, our banks continued making billions in profits even though there was a recession...

I know right. It seems that everyone says that the Ranger and explorer with some truth is the same. This sorry excuse of a plan forbids the use of the engine, and all of its components which I think is bullshit. I'm surprised that the entire hotrod and aftermarket industries didn't have a stroke.

What made it worse was the fact that alot of good usable parts were wasted along with the materials used to make the parts to begin with that could've been reused. It looked good on paper but did it really work? Nope it didn't. Jay Leno said it best when he was featured on an episode of Hotrod TV. When you retsore something you're doing a form of recycling and helping the enviroment. Sure the emission won't be great or handle like today's cars but the gasoline doesn't polute the eviroment like is use to. That came from Jay Leno a certified car guy.
Jay Leno is the shiznit. He is exactly right too.

We have a capitalist system. And unfortunately the banks here are still trying to make a quick profit. Not a steady one. What's the purpose of me worrying about a credit score if it's so damn easy to get a loan. I have a good credit score luckily, but we aren't teaching ourselves any better habits.

I was talking with my Dad one day, he and I had a brilliant idea. Let's teach finance as a class to kids in high school. I guarantee we wouldn't completely turn around overspending but that we for sure would not be as bad off as we were when the crunch hit ever again.

Default I'd like to...

I'd like to know who's the ******* that came up with brain fart cause it sure as hell aint no idea? I bet anything it's our current ******* of a president. Who seems so focused on health care (which he should be mind you) that he has forgotn that people can't get health care if they aint working. We should've elected Hilary Clinton. She was the lesser of 2 evils IMO. In 08 we had the choice of McCain and Palin a notorius hothead whom admitted he approved Busch's policies, and Obama whom we knew nothing about except his middle name is Hussein (how ironic). It had to be either Obama that came up with this "program" or Al Gore. It's been proven to me that neither one of them know one end of a vehicle from the other. The big 3's greed didn't help matters either. That's my humble opinion and couldn't have been even more happier to see it end. I got around 75 emails from dealers and god knows how many phone calls THE VERY LAST DAY IT WAS FUNCTIONING. Awful funny that all of them were either GM or an import dealer (mostly Toyota).

My 2009 Ranger was a Cash For Clunkers deal. Traded in a 1994 F150 Supercab 1 owner me, 198000 miles on it. Ran perfect but was starting to cost a lot in upkeep. I doubt that I would have been able to sell it on the open market for $1000 let alone $3500. I would have rather seen it donated to someone in need . I'm sure that it had a few years of life left in it.

That's what should've been done with the F150 you mentioned, donated to someone in need. granted the older the vehicle gets the harder it can be to up keep. Your senario is one of the few times that a new vehicle would be better. The sad part is that the 1994 F150 you traded could've been stripped down for parts and upgraded with modern technology of today and still have an "old school" body style. That's what's hot right now. Take a look at the Mustangs,Challengers, and the new Camaro (pukey looking design IMO concering the camaro). They all have modern technology and have an old school body style. That 1994 F150 went to the crusher, along with the engine and trans which sucked.

Yeah, all those parts on the vehicles that were scrapped could have gone to keeping other well running rigs on the road. I wonder what the emissions were for the equipment that crushed it, a lot of off highway equipment until the last few years has no smog preventing devices at all. I bet it fair out did what taking those older vehicles would produce on the road for the next 10 years.

That's why I think that the Federal Government are nothing but hypocrits which includes some of my local law enforcement agencies. They tell us don't do this or that and yet they go out and do the same damn thing they told us not to do. About 5 to 6 months ago the DEA busted a drug ring here. ALL OF THEM WERE COUNTY AND TOWN COPS. about 3 months ago a town cop here got a DUI. Yet congress and the Fed. government are worried about emissions all of a sudden. How about all of those times our country sent the space shuttle up. That for sure didn't help our atmosphere at all. And all of those vapor trails we see from jets here on the ground from about 30,000 feet or more. You know it will be triple the size if you see them in the air. How much pollution is that? plus all of those factories that you and I see putting out enough smog to engulf asia. China has a new one of those going up every 1/2 hour or so and running. Their industrial rate is TRIPLE what ours is. Yet those idiots in washington d.c. have the nerve to bitch about emissions. They make me sick. I have no respect for any polliticians, cops (in my area of course due to the misconduct recently uncovered) or anybody who claims this green crap aint a scam which it's obvious that it is.

I'm not quite that hardcore about it lol but it is definately time for a huge change. They bitch at us for emissions. It's not the US that makes the most emissions. It's China, parts of Russia, India, there's probably more but I'm drawing a blank. We need to solve it as a society if it is a real thing. Get China to put more emissions controls on their stuff, that will cut down production of greenhouse gases ten fold probably.

The politicians make me mad cuz if it's not one thing it's another, soon enough we will see cows with tubes in their butts to collect methane so it doesn't harm the ozone blah blah

You guys think you got it bad, i live in a province that thinks california had it right, but weren't tough enough. And even though california admitted their green policies were unrealistic and will transition to the US regulations, my provincial gov thinks they need to put in even more restrictive emission laws. It makes no sense at all, so much so that one of the gov agencies had to purchase service trucks in a different province because the emission standards weren't up to our code, so dealerships couldn't sell them here....

I hate my province.
