Re: Do Cops have anything better to do in MD?
I love the logic, or lack of it.... "I knew I was breaking the law, but didnt think I would get caught?......"
I got pulled over for not having a front plate (which I didnt even know was gone....)

Yeah explain that any ways. What's the point of having two plates?

I used to live in NY; two plates there, too. ...plus a registration sticker and an inspection sticker on the windshield!
I would imagine that it's up to the individual state legislatures to determine what is necessary for their law enforcement community in order for them to easilly assess compliance with the statutory requirements regarding vehicle registrations.

Michigan used to have it a long time ago, but went to single plates. I think PA did too but I moved here after that. Since then PA has changed their plate styles 3 times.

i love northcarolina laws on plates we only need one plate in the back and the inspection is included in it so you dont have a sticker taking up room in the windshield

It's not a big deal. It's obviously illegal, you can be a quarter mile away from your truck and see the law being broken, no one bothered you for 3 years about it.... and now you have to pay what... $20? Not sure why your so upset.
BTW, IMHO, the reason you got pulled over was because it was a Friday night. The cop was probably hoping or suspecting something bigger (EG: DUI, drugs, etc.) and used the headlight violation to pull you over.

Re: Do Cops have anything better to do in MD?
Texas is a dual plate state, but I don't have a front plate bracket since I bought my truck from a single plate state. I'mma wait for the fixit ticket, then locate a front plate bracket, and I'm not gonna bitch about it when I finally get stopped for not having one.
