Pretty sure I can find a battery in town that will fit at a reasonable price, in the morning.

Buy it yourself at the parts counter. It wasn't any more than a battery from any of the parts houses, and the warranty is much better.

I've heard about a few of those going KABOOM under your hood. One poor soul over at ranger-forums had that happen to his, or so I think. Was too lazy to read 16 pages. Could have been something else, but never the less that pretty blue ranger was toasted. Another member commented that this wasn't the first optima battery he's seen go up in flames like that. An optima sure isn't going under my hood after reading that!
At least with my walmart battery, I can sue for 1 million bucks (seems to be the standard ) and get enough cash to buy as many rangers as I like. None of 'em could ever replace my beloved Gold Dust but, 1 mill sure would help heal the wound.

Re: The "what do you hate about your Ranger today" thread
No fault of the ranger but...I decided last week that I wanted to put dual exhaust on my Ranger.
So I ordered a Cherry Bomb turbo SI/DO, couple tips, lap joint band clamps, and tailpipes from Heartthrob (only place I could find where I could just order the tailpipes). I have a Dynomax midpipe on my car that is 2 1/2" and the Heartthrob tailpipes are 2 1/4", so I ordered the muffler as single 2 1/2" in/dual 2 1/4" out.
I get the muffler, tips and clamps first. The muffler is huge (like 11" wide) and I find out it won't work, would be way too close to the driveshaft and the outlets are too far apart. Also the tips are shorter than what I want, AND I find out I accidentally ordered three 2.5" clamps instead of one 2.5 and one 2.25"
Today I got the tailpipes and found out the ends that are supposed to go to the mufflers are actually 2.5 ID ends...doh. Well, I guess now it's actually a good thing that the Thrush Welded muffler I ordered to replace the Cherry Bomb was 2.5" in/dual 2.5" out.
I now have everything I need either on the way or in my garage, but I gotta return a bunch of crap too...oh well!

I've had an Optima Yellowtop in my truck since early 2011 and I've never had a problem with it yet. I've run tons of accessories off of it while camping and still had it fire up in the morning. I'm talking lights, radios, power inverters, air pumps, TV, laptop, more lights...I was impressed with it.
Never heard about them exploding before. Mine has never had any issues, and I've got more wires coming off the terminals than anything lol

I read somewhere that Odyssey makes the Sears diehard platinum batteries and they are just as good. Anyone know if that's true? Cant remember where I read it.
