Re: The "what do you hate about your Ranger today" thread
The one in your pic on the left looks like the one that fit my 2000 w/4.0L OHV.

Re: The "what do you hate about your Ranger today" thread
My clutch slave cylinder leaks. Once every week I have to top of the fluid in the reservoir. I have been putting off fixing it because my clutch still doesn't slip

Re: The "what do you hate about your Ranger today" thread
What do I hate about my Ranger? It has a persistent leak I first noticed it after I signed the sale papers. Problem is that I can't find any evidence of the leak on the driveway. Approx. 275 - 300 miles, the truck becomes undrivable.

---------- read above the boat and trailer don't weigh all that much. But fully loaded it was probably 1200-1300 pounds.

To those not sure about how much a Ranger can tow; I have a base model XL with 2.3L and 5spd manual tranny. Now at 342K miles, original trans and motor, have gone over 200k pulling 5X8 cargo trailer often 1.5 to 2 times the 1650lb rating for this truck. Truck does have "helper" springs otherwise all stock. Have gone from Boston to Miami at a gross weight of 7780 with no problems. Now having said that the truck is beginning to show the extra wear and tear of the overloaded miles. Still a daily driver, still towing the trailer. You must know your own driving abilities and limitations when towing. Be careful and good luck!

My 98 is just my DD, so I just want some traction, and to be able to accelerate onto a highway, so I'll probably go with a 3.73, also I am assuming it will be easier to find, directly out of a Ranger.
