Well, it's about 15 degrees outside today and I have to troubleshoot a starter issue. Battery tested good, cables cleaned and still the starter doesn't turn over. Guess it's spark chasing time...

I just replaced my starter..
I hate my slipping clutch with a passion. And my rust.. But the clutch more.

Yup, it clicked. Had voltage where it was supposed to be. The starter has been dragging for a week. Changed the starter, it started right up.

Thats exactly what happened with me, as soon as the temps dropped, my started started chugging and taking longer to start the engine, eventually it would just click once, I had to park on hills and pop start for a week before I changed it. It was such a pain in the ass getting one of the bolts off. Had to use a breaker bar and an extension, which I don't own, I had to borrow a friends.

Same lol my starter gave out and I took it off yesterday omg it was harder then I thought that 3 bolt I had to use a extension on

One bolt on there thats like right up to the exhaust, couldnt get enough leverage with regular socket or a wrench, it was terrible, haha.

Bob did you buy a starter from the parts store or was it a Hanson built because for under a hundred bucks he rebuilds them and his a personal friend ill stand behind his work

I picked up a rebuilt at Auto Zone yesterday......then they jumped my truck so I could get home..

When you push it, put it in 2nd+ gear and "pop" the clutch up and immediately clutch in, only works in manuals obviously but its a way to start if your starter doesn't work. If they were to jump it (hook up jumper cables) then it wouldn't be his starter that's the problem

Yeah we call it push start. Never heard it called pop started. I know a jump start is with the battery
