I hate my faded grille and the fact that the front bumper doesn't have holes for fog lamps!

I agree. I also hate the fact I can't find a mileage badge for the front grill. I'm 150 miles from clicking in at 200,000 miles on the odometer.

Re: The "what do you hate about your Ranger today" thread
I hate that I can get in it in the morning and have it run perfectly fine, but as soon as I drive it for more than 20 minutes, it starts to run like shit. It would be nice if the truck would have the decency to throw a CEL, but it won't even do that for me. I'm broke as shit right now, and will continue to be broke until September or so, so I'm on my own with this, and have a long ass list of shit to check.

I replaced mine with a billet grill I found online for about $150. Looks WAY better. Installed it in about 2 hours (because I never did it before and had my face in the directions 3 times for every move I made).
What I hate about mine today, and every day for the last 5 months, is the transmission. Syncros are going out in 1st and reverse. Lots of subtle clicking/grinding when the clutch is engaged in those gears.
First Ranger: 1986 2.3L 5 speed - 313,000 miles. I DID NOTHING to the transmission....EVER. Only replaced the U-joints in the drive shaft once.
Second Ranger: 1992 2.3L 5 speed - 215,000 miles. Sold in 2004 still running great. Again, did nothing to the tranny, ever.
Third Ranger: Current 2004 3.0L V6 5 speed - 82,000 miles. Tranny issues up the wazoo.
Note: The rear main seal on the 2.3L for both of those trucks leaked non-stop starting at about 125,000 miles and on. No affect on the tranny, but destroyed the clutch from that point on. Had those seals replaced several times on both trucks, but the problem was never resolved. Never got more than 50-60K miles out of the clutches that went in after that.

Re: The "what do you hate about your Ranger today" thread
That rangers are so goddamn expensive to lift and that when i bought it the dealer had already put on brand new highway tires so i gotta wait while those waste out before I will even want to lift it

I'm convinced the trannys in the 3.0Ls SUCK!
As for the 2.3Ls, never had any problems with mine either and had close to 200,000 on it when I traded.
I'm currently hating my cloth bench seat, it so uncomfortable!
