The fact that I have over $9,000 in my 97 ranger over the past 7 and she's torn apart yet again with a new motor because I believe a connecting rod came loose and there is less then 2,000 miles on the new motor. Absolutely HATE the 2.3 they put in these damn things. Should have just done the V6 conversion years ago......... Or sold it before I got in over my head. They love to nickel and dime ya though......

When I started looking at Rangers I wanted a 2 door extended cab.
The truck I bought is a 4 door extended cab.
Now that I've had it a couple of months, I can say I would have HATED a 2 door version!

I hate my drivers side seat belt that twists up and won't retract well, even if it's straight!!!

Due to rotator cuff problems on my shoulder, I hate a seat belt tight and grinding against my body. Years ago, I got some spring clamps like you use to hold a stack of papers together (probably $1). I pulled the belt out far enough to be comfortable and then clamp the belt where it slides back into the retractor. This way, if someone else needs to drive the truck, just pull the clamp off and it's back to a normal retracting belt.

After the freezing rain this past weekend, I hate that my '08 doesn't have heated mirrors.
The checking I've done leads me to believe that heated mirrors were never an option on Rangers.

My 4.0 sohc is a dog. A nuttless dog that gets horrible gas millage but it is 21 years old and runs like a champ so there is that

The lima 2.3-2.5 were the toughest engines the ranger had. Your new engine must have been built on saturday.

Things i hate? Cant think of many, Rangers are just honest trucks, thats why most of us love them!
If i had to make a list
1. How slow the 3.0 is in my 96(but it works)
2.the chunky, sludgey, rusty brown coolant in my 96
Thats about it, i love these trucks

The damn power steering pump! Why oh why can't they trouble themselves to make a nice quiet one!!??
I have even put in a special one that is supposed to be quieter. And did the mod where you extend the storage vessel. Helped a little, but still bugs the crap out of me.
