Put new tires on it yesterday, and now I have to replace upper balls and a-arms. Bottom balls ok, but boots have cracks.

I hate the green cluster lighting and the cup holder placement for the manuals.

In 97 and down you can do that but in 98 the green was darker or more tinted I guess? But ya I can't do that and that makes me mad because every other light in my truck is blue except for my cluster.

The cup holders really do suck on the manuals. The one on the center console for the bench models is pretty good, but those by the stick are useless for drinks. I use the one on the left for my vaporizer and the one on the right for random crap (12v USB charger, keys, etc).

Haha. I did the 60/40 to 40/40 seat mod to fit a sub in the back but I still have enough room to build my own center consol. I designed it with cup holders lol

What bulbs do you use? If you have long life bulbs, the compromises made to extend life come at the cost of the bulbs ability to have good beam focus, which results in reduced lumen output and especially a reduced ability to project. Get a good performance bulb like Philips xtreme vision (best output), or go with a solid bulb like the sylvania xtravision (NOT the silverstar bulbs). This upgrade will cost about $40.

Also, voltage drop. I just checked my voltage drop at the lights a week or so ago and I was between 1.3v to 1.8v dc. A relay harness made with some automotive relays and 12 gauge wire brought my drop down to .1-.203v and made a huge difference. You can source everything locally for about $30, except maybe the 9007 connectors (most of the store junk has 16 gauge wire). There are some ceramic 9007 connectors on rallylights.com for less than $10 that would work, or you could try to rewire the store bought one.

I just went through your hell a few weeks ago. Im a noob to this stuff so I started a thread here:
Headlight Upgrade 9007 02 Ford Ranger

Guys know their shit, or seem to. In terms of the adjusters, you could try to mess with the other adjusters (you have to pull the assembly out) to get it aimed more upward to get the top vertical adjuster in range.

Just some ideas- your call

Ahh I see. Yeah, the OEMs are highway robbery- about $450 a set. You could prolly retrofit OEM HID projectors into the aftermarket headlight housings cheaper than you could bulb, harness, and OEM headlight housing the truck!

The newest ones arent AS bad as those used literally less than a year ago- sylvania was sued for false claims, and so they started relabelling bulbs made by a company they bought out (osram). The ones that they used to make had a blue coating over the whole bulb, while the newer ones have a clear strip in the middle of the glass.

All the blue coated bulbs are junk- the blue coating is a filter that prevents warmer colors from exiting the bulb. This makes the light output "whiter" (a higher kelvin temperature), but it also lowers final lumen output and lowers the amount of useful light. Also, because they must run the filament much hotter to approach higher lumen output, the bulbs only last 200-250 hours.

The philips extreme vision bulbs are clear (except a small blue tinge right at the tip behind the shield), and last longer than the old style silverstar bulbs (rated at 320 hours). They also have higher lumen output and better beam focus. While the gap has narrowed slightly since sylvania started using the osram bulbs, the xtreme visions are still better. GE Nighthawks are as good too, cheaper, but dont last as long.

Im no expert with all this though (a noob actually). If you want a dizzying amount of info on lighting, head over to the automotive section of the candlepower forums.
