Worked on them? The ford 2.3 (just speaking) is one of the most reliable motors around. I love how people get all butt hurt over a manufacturer. Every vehicle has its own issues, doesn't matter if it's a ford, Chevy, dodge, fiat, Nissan, doesn't matter.

Don't even get me started. My facebook news feed is constantly flooded with people talking shit about Fords breaking down or being junk. Those same people post once a week about the Chevy's and Dodge's being in the shop. I've had my Ranger for over 2 years. Wanna know how many times it's broken down? 0.

Yep - my truck has been nothing but good to me. Replaced my water pump and tensioner pulley, and usual maintenance items (plugs, wires, coil pack, filters, etc)

Re: The "what do you hate about your Ranger today" thread
My Bronco 2 popped a head gasket but I don't blame Ford I blame the PO for not taking care of it like he should have. He tried a temp fix on it using head gasket repair but when I ran rad flush threw it since he has been avoiding the cooling system and it was in horrible shape I'm assuming the rad flush ate the headgasket repair

Same thing happened to my truck when I got it. Got it from a family friend that let his mother in law drive it. Somehow she ran it dry and blew the head gasket. Motor was shot. Replaced the motor with the junk yard motor, didn't take it apart it anything just slapped it in. Has been running good since that's 60k ago. My trucks got 210k on it. Motor has been changed, rearend has been changed (to regear not because issue) tranny is original. My trucks never been broke down. Only time it sat was because I replaced the fan clutch and had to order a new fan because it cracked. So left it apart and waited for the fan to come in. Overall it's been a great truck. My dads buddy's wife's sister bought it new. Poster her job with like $1500 left on it and sold it to his buddy's wife. They drove it for a while used it to go to work and all around, sold it to my fathers other buddy that did the same thing and it was his daughters first vehicle. She put some dents in it, drove it till it blew up. And it was on the trailer to the scrap yard and told him to drop it off at my house that I would give him the $200 for it. So did. Put a motor in it. Did all the body work, went over it and have been driving it daily since. I love my truck, I will not sell it. It will turn into a project truck when I get a new one. Ford knows how to make good trucks. People are just way to bias to brands. I have a Chevy with 280k on it 1500 5.3 gas. Wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. Any vehicle is only as good as its maintained. Period. Doesn't matter if brand.

Yep my trucks had a new starter, alternator, water pump, radiator, ac lines, exhaust, plugs, wires, fuel pump, filter, and any other thing that needed work. All that stuff is considered maintenance. Love when people won't fix anything and will keep beating on it and then complain saying its a pos when it breaks down.

Exactly granted there's still vehicles I wouldn't own (Honda) but any vehicle will last as long as you want it to as long as you maintain it properly. I have an engine I'm planning on swapping in just need to get a cherry picker

Normally I would agree, and I do for most makes. I'm sorry though- it seems Chrysler products are just not in the same league as gm, ford, and Japanese manufacturers.
I say this conceding that the best running engine I've ever seen was a 318 in a pace arrow motorhome. You literally couldn't tell it was running except for the fan turning and the noise!

Re: The "what do you hate about your Ranger today" thread
What I hate about my Ranger today: it doesn't have an infrared windshield and a remote gun turret with 360* swivel rotation.
Cause if it did that would be awesome, other than that I hate nothing about it.

^ new project to add to the list.
Today, I hate the fact that my Ranger just ran over 190k. Every day is a new mile, and every mile is a new problem.

Re: The "what do you hate about your Ranger today" thread
that the dinger goes off the whole time the door is open, the radiator is leaking, the headlining is coming down, the brake light flashes on and off at random times, I have 3 different sized tires, i have a crack in the windshield, the air conditioner doesn't work, my taillights aren't legal I just found out, the dipstick for the transmission fluid is loose and wobbly, and I need new spark plug wires.

I would t worry about the dipstick. Mine is wobbly too. I would be most concerned about the 3 different tires.
