Same here. Also, a twin stick is not 'needed' for serious offroading. It is nice to have if you want a rockclimber or similar offroading capability.

Re: The "what do you hate about your Ranger today" thread
I knew about twin stick transfer cases long before twin stick Rangers.
However, I think the fact that new trucks aren't coming with manual transfer cases is a bigger issue than people calling manual/manual Rangers twin sticks.
I mean for Christ's sake, is it really that hard to pull a lever forward and back? I understand automatic locking hubs for when prissy girls don't want to get their pants and boots dirty, but come on.

The new auto hubs are damn junk. Glad my step dad's 6.7 has the option to get out and lock it in. But I've seen more problems with auto locking hubs then I have with the manual hubs.

All of this, except for a live axle front, no manual or auto locking hubs ftw

Re: The "what do you hate about your Ranger today" thread
As you know in an earlier post, my 4WD quit working. Replaced the 4x4 control module, nothing. So assumed it was the switch and went to the JY and got one, still nothing. Only one other thing I can think.... the transfer case motor bit the dust. Found one for $68 on Rock Auto. That better fix it... Already spent $200 in it now.
If I had the know-how, i'd convert it to a manual shift ala FX4. Electronics are the devil.

Wasn't this forum. It was some doohickey guy making a $300 cable operated shifter deal that mounted to the side of the transmission tunnel.
And then there's this:

I live in western AZ, out in the middle of the desert. Water conservation essential ( We will have received 4.5" YTD. My '99 is black with a black fiberglass bed cap. I use a so-called 'California Car Wash' brush to get rid of the loose dirt and that is usually enough to keep the paint clean.
The biggest surprise to me was that the truck cab stays relatively cool when compared to 2 other vehicles which were also black. The fact that the truck is garaged every night keeps the heat soak down and me happy.

I hate how the 4door rear seats are different than regular extra cab seats. Having a hard time finding seats since the fuck-tard kid I got the truck from pulled the seats out to put his speakers back there.

Re: The "what do you hate about your Ranger today" thread
Ok... transfer case motor came in today... put it on... still nothing. I am pretty much at a loss now as to why the 4WD is not working.
Could it be the control module I got was a dud? I cheaped out, and bought a JY one off of Ebay. I get the lights on the dash after I start it.
