Sorry--Got to have those 2 vehicles---hers and mine. Actually, wife has never driven my truck, and I only drive her Taurus wagon on long trips.

I'll tell ya what I "hate about my Ranger today" and for that matter, the last handful of weeks. This week alone I've had five people inquire about me wanting to sell it. The week is not over. Last week, it was three. There are more weeks like this; what is it. Mine is not for sale, go away. No viable and/or acceptable replacements for this current Ranger exist, go away people! End.

Don't be sorry I pleaded with my wife to keep the Honda Civic which was paid for when I bought the Ranger for long trips but she said we didn't need it,I guess if you figure the cost for keeping The Honda it would pay for lots of gas.LOL!

I hate how he Toyota V6 4.0 puts out 250 horse and 285 ft.lbs. torque. I'd have to supercharge my 4.0 to make similar power

Supercharging it would make more. But you have to remember, the 4.0 SOHC is a 15 year old + design.

Not much more.... reliably at least. lol
5.5 pounds would get you an additional 50 wheel horsepower (+/-).
Anything much more than that - and you're essentially running on borrowed time without internal engine upgrades....
Sorta sad to think about how old the 4.0 SOHC really is. lol

Really, in it's day, when it came out, it was the king of all small truck V6's. I'm pretty sure it was the only one from Toyota/Nissan/dodge/Chevy/ford to actually make over 200 horsepower. The 3.4 that used to come in the tacos only made 190 hp and 210 lb/ft if I remember correctly.
