Default trouble with flex fuel

I recently emailed the ceo of ford motor of my problems with my 2000 ford ranger. I was emailed back the next day by the public relations department. I essentially felt like I was brush off and they did not want to hear about my engine stalling out in the middle of traffic endangering not only myself but other motorists as well.I had also mentioned that in light of toyota and their safety issues that they are experiecing that they might want to do something about it . The mechanic I have been going to had found that the problem with the engine stalling is NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE. He had found that there are several thousand rangers (if not more) doing the same thing. I am very discusted with ford with their reply that I want to get rid of the ranger and not even recommend to anyone about buying anyhting from ford. I guess my death or someone else's death is the only way they are going to pay attention. Look what's happening with toyota. sincerely bob

I didn't think that anything much older than about 2006 or 2007 could support E85? I know that if you run E85 in a carberatued vehicle, you need to either modify the carb extensively to let it flow more, or buy an E85 calibrated one. To me, the stalling out seems to indicate that there is too little fuel flowing to the motor to keep it running. But thats just my 2 cents, and nothing more than some ramblings.

There were flex fuel rangers way back in 98 or 99. They just really weren't known because nobody cared back then. The only rangers with flex fuel were certain 3.0L engines.

Ah, gotcha. I'll save that away in the back files somewhere for when I need it. Always good to know

In my hurry to type the letter I did not realize that my title was not complete. It is the flex fuel sensor That is no good. I have been told that even replacing this sensor Does not fix the problem. (AND NO I AM NOT JUST RAMBLING!)

My 99 is FF compatible. But I've never used that option before. Never plan to.

Agree

Why not use gasoline?

Why would replacing the sensor not solve the problem?

Need some more details

If your letter to ford was as dramatically vague as your post here, I can see why they didn't care. Try some details.
