Yah I know,, I know I will probably regret it but I think its time for something new. Its just not really practical for me right now, I live in the city, work in the city. I never have anything in the back except bike or snowboard which i can put on a rack so I think its time got to back to a car. Plus I am thinking about a WRX STI which will make me forget about how much I miss the ranger pretty quick.

I am trying to figure out some financial aspects of how this is going to go down and looking for an idea of what I can get for my truck if I sell it privately before I see what they will give me on a trade.

Its an 04 FX4 Regular Cab, w/ 130,000 km. It has AC, Cruise, Tilt Steering, rear sliding glass, mp3 stereo. The body and paint are in excellent shape beisdes a few small dings and scratches but its also being professionally polished by our detailer at work in the next few weeks. The interior is perfect besides the carpet which is stained but I have a black vinyl lined up to go in it, and the seats are a little dirty but they are getting steam cleaned and there is a seam on one seat I am having fixed first as well. It has a gibson dual cat back which is less than a year old and professionally welded in rather than clamped. New dry cell battery and alternator, new tires in september, new front pads and rotors. Rancho RSX shocks and NKG sparkplugs all less than a year old. Roll n lock tonneau cover, bed liner, ventshades and bug deflector. I think I will sell the programmer separately and put the stock speakers in as well to keep or sell. I also have a set of 6000k DDM HIDs for the fogs and headlamps I just got today in the mail, not sure if i should sell them or put them in to help get a few more dollars for the truck and help it sell.

I looked on edmunds.com to aprraise the vehicle. I could not find the combination of the truck. the only 2004 reg cab with 4wd is the edge. so this truck must be the edge but then i could not find the off road/fx4 package so i guess the fx4 is part of the edge. it is early here maybe I am still asleep

Ya, as far as books i dont think the Reg cab Fx4 exists because there were so few sold and only in Canada. I put an ad in Kijiji for $12g to see what kind of interest i get. A few sites I looked at put the truck at about $10500 with being a reg cab 4x4 instead of a fx4

I beleive you have a few upgraded items such as 31 spline rear axle with l/s. Probably nicer interior and bilstein shocks IIRC.

X2, 10-12K CND for sure. Very nice truck. I love that Reg. Cab and FX4 combo. To bad I couldn't have gotten that Reg. Cab option for 2010. Looks great.

There's a 2003 FX4 Stepside at the local garage that just came up for sale. It's Silver and has 246,371km on it though. The guy wants $5,000CND. Body's good but needs some mech. work done, at least $1,500-$2,000 worth, just to get it back on the road (Seals, Axle, Bearings, Exhaust, Brakes......). Yours is far nicer though and a lot less mileage and year newer.

My son's now looking for a Ranger but he dosn't have the funds for yours though. You've certainly made him drool and pant over yours. He can always dream! Poor fella lolol.

He's probably gonna end up with a 2000-2003 2.3L Reg. Cab 2x4 Base. He can get a nice one here for $3,000-$4,000CND with between 110,000km to 180,000km.

A new 2010 FX4 sells for $21,199 CND + tax. (and that's with no haggling price at all. I got my 2010 FX4 even lower than that at $20,140 CND + tax out the door.

Ford Canada has a manufactures $6,000 CND instant rebate + a $1,000 CND Costco Member instant rebate now = $21,199 CND + tax out the door. Plus you get $1,000 CND of genuine Ford Accessories added to that for free (floor mats, bedliner, extenda bed ...../ your choice).

I should buy a bunch of new 2010 Ranger FX4's and get my beeehind down to West Michigan and make me a Fortune!!!! lol. Buy the looks of it I could sell each one for $27,000 to $29,000 CND + tax there lmao! I'm gonna be rich lol.

What's going on in the US vehicle market now? is it really that expensive? I was always under the impression it was cheaper to Buy in the U.S.A. vs CND? Or is it really that different from State to State in the US when it comes to vehicle prices?

I was thinking the same thing about being able to get a new one for that price, I paid $19 for mine w/ 50 000 km but that was just before everything got really cheap when the American Economy bit it. I could have gotten a new one a year later for not much more, damn. lol I have taken good care of it and hate to get rid of it but its not going to get any more practical for me and just decrease in value for when I do finally have to sell it so I am going to have to bite the bullet and get rid of it now while I can still get a bit of money for it.
