Well my buddy and I took my truck apart down to the block. Got the heads off and noticed they were cracked after we sent his dad to pick up parts. We're going to pick n pull today to try and pick up 2 heads that are in good shape. Wish me luck! I've got pictures to post later when I'm not busy.

Done with pick n pull already, got some really nice looking heads! And a new idler pulley cos mine was making noise, and scored a sweet power dome! All by 10:30, might get the truck back together today.

I actually did do my water pump about 10,000 miles ago. So it isn't tooo bad.

I did end up getting the truck back together enough to turn it over just to see if it would run correctly. That truck started right up, didn't even hesitate, as if nothing ever happened. I was such a proud owner. I'll post pics here shortly.

Don't listen to that other person about putting in a 4.0 or 5.0. You will have to swap transmission and other shit, it will just be alot more work. Unless thats something you really want to do & invest the time in. Otherwise if you just want the truck back up and running, it'll be faster using a donor 3.0. Good luck with the rebuild.

Ahhh, that's the only thing I didn't take pictures of! It's powder blue right now from a 2000ish ford edge. It has two small nicks in it that are easily fixable, and you can overlook them really easy... It's made of fiberglass, though? It's so pretty. I had to have it, and I got it for $70 bucks..

----------

Just getting started on her. We started at about 9:00 am on saturday. By 11:40 we had everything off and were sending his dad to get parts..

The heads were disgusting, they had carbon deposits and smelled like burnt oil. There was rust all in the lifters, and one had collapsed.

That last one is the only picture I have putting it back together, but those are three separate cracks in the head, she was bad!

Which do you think would be better in my 1994 Ford Ranger a 289 v8 or a 302 v8?

I'm not particularly sure which would be easiest...or better, I'm sure bigger would be better.

I asked someone today and the said that the 289 would be better because it would have less problems but I am not sure.
