Default Is this worth it?

I just bought my ranger a few months ago for $3250, which was a very good deal i thought. After these few months a few things are needed to be fixed now, apparently my leaf spring spacers, check engine light which is saying system to lean so im just hoping its an 02 sensor, brakes/ rotors, lower ball joints. From what i have read on this forum some of you guys have mentioned the squeaking in my front and rear are the lower ball joints and the leaf spring spacers. so now i am just wondering if its worth fixing all of this stuff? and how much will this stuff cost about? thanks.

Mass air flow sensor cleaner, you spray it liberally it'll probably easily clear up your lean condition. MAF sensors suck lol I can't tell you much for the rest of it. I haven't had those troubles.

a 12 year old truck is most likely not ever going to run 100% again. That's the sacrifice you make buying an older truck. Mine's an 04 and I'm sure its seen better days. All the other stuff depends on how long you plan on keeping the truck, and how much you drive it. If this is a daily driver, then the brakes, and ball joints are probably top priority. This is not only maintenance but it is a safety issue. Leaf springs can even effect your handling which in turn effects your safety...Just something to think about.

as long as you like what you are driving it is always worth it to fix it up, think about it this way, after you spend the money to fix it right then it should (seemingly) last a while. no matter what you buy, like for instance i have an 04 explorer, ive had to put 2 alternators in it. both rear hub assemblies, i am doing a front hub tomorrow...etc. but once it is fixed it will last a while.

Its just cheaper in the long run to replace the parts than going out and buying a new truck off the lot. Ball joints and brakes and rotors are normal wear and tare on any vehicle you can do it yourself on the driveway those two things you do it yourself cut down labor cost plus you get to know your truck much better up close and in person.

ya a month ago my check engine light came on. It was lean. The problem was a spider web blocking the sensor.

Yeah... if you plan on keeping it, I'd say even for another year, go ahead and fix it... your alternative is to buy another vehicle and compared to that fixing it will be cheaper... don't know pricing though, sorry

Yeah, I got lucky with my truck, I have full repair bills for it. And it was maintained entirely at the dealer it was bought from until I got the Ranger. Fixing everything now is a good idea. Plus if you decide you want to trade up for say a newer Ranger, you can get more money for a truck that runs and drives perfectly as well as it has newer parts on it.
