Default Looking at buying my first ranger, need advice

Hey guys, i'm new here

I've been a long time fan of rangers and I've decided its time to get one

I've done some research and heres what I'd like to get:

2007-2010 ranger XLT, 2wd reg cab 2.3 L (prefer standard but auto would be fine)

I'm wondering if theres anything I should be aware of, or look for in this year / model in particular

a heads up would be much appreciated

thanks yall

Hey man , first off hope you find a ranger!

Anyways i was in the same boat as you looking for this and that

Guys here told me to look for earlier models and i was like yeah whatever but listened to them and couldn't be happier got my self a 2wd 03 edge 4.0l v6 ..

Just look for any visible damage , rust , dents , make sure everything seems to work , i don't know a whole lot of what to look for but just make sure it runs good

^this...but the 4.0 is a big gas drinker...so if you want decent mileage for a truck get the 2.3 Duratec...and 4cyl only come in 2wd reg. cab or 2wd 2dr ext cab form

3.0 is reliable too. I have 256,xxx.miles on my 99 3.0L FFV 4x4 off road.

Sent from my old school HTC EVO Shift so I can screw off at work whenever I want

First off, good luck with your search man!
As far as I have seen there are no particular things about the years your looking for that u should be concerned with.
Just make sure it has been taken care of.
I was looking for about the same thing before I found my 05.

05 xlt 4x4 auto, Aries grill guard, shield & deflectors, led tailgate light bar, tonneau, tbar crank, k&n air filter

Theres nothing wrong with the 3.0L...
But it seems he already knows what he wants, a 2.3L 2wd....
Good gas saver truck..fun to drive specially if its a manual..

Also it's a ranger! I'd still love a ranger even if it had a geo metro engine!
