Shane, you aren't ditching the tailgate for gas savings are you? There is plenty of documentation why this doesn't work including; http://www.trucktrend.com/features/c...odynamics.html

Cargo nets suck. They stretch after awhile. Even the ones that say they dont, do.

Had a stepside and couldn't fit crap in the bed. So I swapped it for a fleetside. Stepside FTL!!!!!!!!

Actually replacing the tailgate with a mesh tailgate showed improved MPGs.

Is there any advantage to a stepside? Or is it just a style thing?

Also is fleetside just a regular old bed?

^^^There is no advantage to the stepside, imo. I really don't like the way they look and you can't fit crap in the bed. Ranger fleetside beds are small enough as they are. And you are correct-a fleetside is a normal old bed.

Fleetside > stepside all day, every day

^^^^ NO NO NO
Stepside comes in handy. Need to reach something in the bed? Use the step! Fleetsides are boring and do not draw my attention like steppies do!

Had a full size GMC stepside with a 6' bed, loved the look of the old style full size step side. Would love a late 70's early 80's F-150 step side 4X4.

Mines a stepside and I really enjoy it. I don't have any issues fitting anything in the bed. I like the look better than the regular bed. That's just my opinion though.

I have always loved the "Fat Fendered" Fords. I have a '54 F-100 that is in the process of being reborn as a street rod. I figure another 2 years before it will make it's debut. For now I have an '03 Edge stepside and love it. Have a tonneau cover on it right now and just picked up a cap for when I need more room for my rc helicopters.

www.StylinTrucks.com

Great price and easy to install. Plugs into trailer plug.
