Default Replacing igniton cylinder

Ignition cylinder got stuck in locked position, with steering wheel locked. Couldn't turn the key to run position for easy removal of the cylinder. Had to drill it out. Found lots of folks on the internet who described this but I had no idea how difficult drilling out the old one would be. Dulled a couple of drill bits, but it finally came out. New one is working like it should. Total cost (not including drill bits) about $20. Glad I saved myself the locksmith bill.

Yes. Auto Zone had it. Once you get the old one out, and clean up all the filings from the drilling, the new one goes in very easily.

Ford ignition cylinders are very popular, and readily available at the parts store.
