Default Increasing driver seat adjustment travel on an '06 Ranger

I have an extended 4 door FX4 Ranger year 2006. Is there a quick and dirty way to move the seat back further than stock? It is a manual adjust type. I am 6'4" and just need a little more leg room.

could always take your tracks and move them back a bit. dont see where it would hurt it..

It will only go so far back. It has like a metal tab that keeps it from going further back.

Yeah I had looked at moving the rails back but it doesn't look like that is possible since the front mounting bracket is bolted to the "hump" under the seat.

Wonder if there is a way to alter that metal tab position? Uhm, maybe I'll pull that seat out this afternoon and see. For local driving I can live with the seat as it is but I plan on some 1K mile road trips with the ranger in the near future and I want just a tad more room.

If you knocked that tab down. You would need to make a new stop or it would slid off the track

Yeah, I'd have to do that to the rail portion that is attached to the seat. We'll see what I have to work with this afternoon. What puzzles me is that my dad's 99 ranger has lots more travel than mine does. Wonder if it has to do with the fact that mine is 4 door and his is not? Heck even my 2003 vw bug has more than enough travel.

BTW STL, you have a sharp looking truck!

Took the driver seat out and found out that there is no way to alter that bracket for more travel without major modifications.

you could lower the brake and gas pedals down some and raise the steering wheel
