So this summer I'm driving to San Diego to visit my marine cousin at base, well my Ranger runs great but I don't know if it'll do as well on a 23 hr trip. What are some suggestions that you guys have for me to prepare my ranger for a trip like this?!! I've already started looking for camper shells to cut down motel costs. Lol.

Check fluids, verify tire pressure, check spare too, fill it with fuel and drive.

Oh God! Lol so alright,,lol
Roll of duct tape
1 quart oil
Gallon washer fluid
Gallon of coolant
iPhone charger
Check tires
Tranny fluid?
And the main reason why I ask is because the check engine light keeps turning on and off on the truck and I don't understand why,, mechanic guy says it's just sensors. But ehh I don't know,,

These are just general tips for a long road trip. No one can tell you whether or not your Ranger is up for a 23hr drive from reading your posts. Take it to a mechanic, and tell him the plan.

If you have concerns, you might look into flying. With the price of gas, you would probably spend about the same.

If you do take the road trip, take a bunch of bottled water & snacks, in case something bad happens in the middle of nowhere. Wet wipes are great to have after a long day driving too, if you plan to spend a night in your pickup.

"Just sensors". Did he clarify which sensors? A CEL can have a pretty big impact on your MPG, even if it doesn't strand you somewhere.

I'd find a new mechanic. If something is throwing a code and causing the CEL to come on, you should probably replace it. Just because the light doesn't stay on, that doesn't mean it can't currently be (or soon turn into) a significant issue or cause damage other systems.

The truck runs great and performance is great,, engine is quiet, no weird little sounds, but it's just that damn check engine light that pisses me off and gets me paranoid!! Lol maybe it's psychological.

I like to bring a floor jack on long road trips. When I do get a flat it will make life so much easier!

This man is a genius, duct tape is a miracle worker.

Sent from my old school HTC EVO Shift so I can screw off at work whenever I want
