Took my truck at the time (now my dad's) 1999 single cab truck camping. Was drinking a little, and wanted to move the truck so we could play music. Was in a big open field with no one for at least a mile. And backed it in the only tree there. It's a beater truck, has a bunch of dents anyways, and plenty of dents in the bumpers as well. Couldn't even tell which dent was from me, and of course my dad didn't notice either.

Also it was dark, dark tint in the truck, and was only like a coke can size tree base, so of course I hit it. Wasn't like a huge tree that I could of seen.

Other then that I'm one of the best people to backup a truck. I can backup my truck at 20mph straight back with no problems 1/8 of mile or more. Similar to stunt drivers driving fast backwards. To me its not hard, I've never practice, and always have total control even in tight areas.

anyways, I've only drink few times a year, and now not at all, i doubt its drunk driving since I wasn't no were near a road and just backing up to do a uturn :P

Well I don't see that as a 5 minute job, I see it as doing it right and not just a couple panels haha, maybe I'll do it when I bedline the floor of my cab.

Not sure why so many people have problems backing up, I can understand if you have a newer ranger with the fucking huge headrest, but in the normal ones, you just turn around & can see everything.

Was backing up to my dads van to tow it and ran into a road sign. Scraped down the side of my bed right up to the fender flare. Most frustrating part is that I just finished doing some body work and paint on my bumper like 2 weeks ago and repainted the bed in October.... Now gotta fix dents and scrapes..... Again
By the way the reason I couldn't see the sign when backing up was because I had a couple pieces of drywall in the back of the cab covering the back window....

I have no confidence backing up - period. I will park further away from the front door so I can choose the parking space that has the one "behind" it empty also - just so I can go forward in and out!

Wow, you're really hung up on that, aren't you? If only I had known that it would lead to such emotional trauma...
