Default Towing

Although the towbar has always been on the truck I`d never used it but I towed with the Ranger for the first time this morning, a mates auld knackered Ford Escort estate a few miles to a local garage for repair, used a tow pole and didn`t know the car was there, no effort what so ever, if fact he was telling me to slow down.

I have towed my dads 26' travel trailer before. Only problems were stopping and taking off. Going down the road at 45-50 mph it was just fine

STL when you towed that big of a trailer did you have to add equalizer bars or an equalizer hitch?

The rangers a good towing vehicle, even better than my old Hilux.

Yeah, I had a 51 plate 2.4TD Hilux which was a hell of a truck but this Ranger is in a different league for normal road use.
Effortless 70 mph crusing where the Toyota would be doing 50 and 35+ mpg where the Hilux would only get 25+
The most powerful pickup I had for towing was the 3.0 TDi Isuzu Rodeo
But horses for courses I suppose, this Ranger is the best all rounder by far.

I had the 2002 D4D hilux it was a great truck, I regretted selling it, then bought a van before needing a 4x4 again. Didn't like the look of the new hilux plus toyota aint cheap for spares so got my ranger. Want to try the Amarok next but thats a long way off, got plenty of years left in my ranger.
