Angry Ranger End of Life?

My 1999 Ranger failed inspection because of rust rotting the frame. I am not currently in a position to replace the frame, or try to reinforce it (which would be a bandaid over a 3in hole through the chest, not very effective). Of course I don't want to get rid of the Ranger, because its fun, I have a lot of $$ in it, and everything else on the truck works perfectly. The rear frame, near the shackles of course, was boxed in last year. Now it is the front of the frame where the LCAs are attached which is rusted through. But pretty much everything under the truck is rusted badly.

My question is what should I do?
I could part it out, sell it as a parts truck, keep it and try to swap the frame. But my funds, time, tools, and working space are very limited. I drive 6+ hours to school, so it is important for me to have a working vehicle. Should I bite the bullet and just buy another truck?

Any input would be appreciated.

Also, I just bought some Rugged Ridge manual locking hubs (because the PVH system crapped out, of course), and now I can even use them! I'm so mad right now!

I've talked to a few people that have been in wrecks with thier Rangers, and you won't die that well, lol. One guy told me he had a front end collision with the front end smasshed all the way up to the firewall, but the cab was spotless-and he walked away from it. They're built to be well wrecked. When I was rear ended-and it was totalled by the insurance company-it only bent the frame below the bumper, and I drove it away to fix it. Go to the fast inspection station, and drive away inspected.

This is just irresponsible. If it was something stupid that didn't effect the safety of others on the road (third brake light out, window off its track, exhaust leak), then sure by all means do it. But if the frame gives out and he goes into the oncoming lane and kills a family of 4, then he has to live with that for the rest of his life.

Fix it or replace it.

This is the dumbest fucking thing I have heard in awhile. Its the lower control arm. If he hits a bump in the road hard enough, its going to snap due to the rust and hes going to wreck, possibly taking out innocent people.
Your situation is different because there isnt a hole rusted through your frame

The dumbest fucking thing I've heard in a long while, or read, is your stupid fucking response to my answer fucktard. Had I known it involved hte lower control arm I would have answered differently. All I saw was somebody worried about an inspection, so go fuck yourself.

If you don't have anything helpful to say then don't say it. I'm looking for advice, not to see who can write fuck the most times in a post. Go work on your truck and chill out. Jeeze

Yea, everybody needs to take a deep breath and chill !!!
Ok, here's my 2c , I'v been working on and restoring cars since I was 16yrs old, I'm now 63. You have school so get a good transportation vehicle. Your truck has stage 4 cancer of the frame, let her go.....
Sell the truck to someone who can use it as a parts truck or part it out yourself if you have a place to keep it.

you said you had a lot of money invested in it. Is it parts that bolt on? You could buy a another ranger similar to the one you have, switch the parts out and then sell/part out the other truck.
