And even though you can fit it between the fender and upper control arm mount, you have to tilt it up (spilling oil fucking everywhere) to get it out. Its either that or dropping it down past the starter motor. Which also spills the oil fucking everywhere.
Did I mention I changed my oil today? hahaha

Agreed. I drop it down past the starter motor, but I open up the new oil filter box and position it so that it covers the starter motor and prevents any oil getting on it when oil spills everywhere.

Or the fender..pretty sure there was a rigid brake line sticking up in the way as well. I can usually finagle it out through the bottom with no problem, but after I helped my brother with his Prism the other week and seeing his filter just out in the open I get to mine this morning and I was like WHY .. So I got a bucket and just let it drop out
How do you get yours out? I can unscrew it fine reaching through the wheel well but if you got a pointer for the extraction I'm ears man
|
I set mine down on the frame rail and then reach behind everything to grab it and pull it out. Do the reverse to put it back on.
If it really bothers you, you can get a filter relocation kit. Like the one I put on Red (they make them in single filter configurations too). Theres pics in my build thread if you wanna see what it is.
