Default New ranger owner, what problems should I look forward to?

I just bought a 93 ranger xlt, 4wd, 4.0, auto with 164000 miles. what problems should I be aware of or keep an eye out for? I bought this mainly for a daily driver commuter but eventually might do some mods.
Thanks

Rear leaf spring hangers/ shackles like to rust out and break. The automatic hubs for the 4x4 are known to break as well, but you could already have manual hubs.

Mine has auto hubs.

What about engine or trans problems?

I can't really think of anything motor/ trans related with your year Ranger other than individual miscellaneous problems. If the previous owners took care of the truck, then it should last a long time.

Well one thing I already noticed is when i first start it in the morning or something, it idles pretty rough and usually dies a couple times. I have to give it some gas for a minute before it will stay running. Also when doing this, when it is about to die the volts gauge bounces around a little bit. when the rpms drop to 500 or so the lights go dim then when it picks up they go brighter.I keep thinking it could be the alternator, or maybe a vacuum issue but i havent had a chance to really look into it yet. Also it has a hard time getting over 75 on the freeway. I am going to do the throttle cable mod to see if that helps anything. Any thoughts on this?

I had the same thing happen to my 94, all i did was clean up the battery case and cables with some baking soda and water and put some dielectric grease on the terminals. Seems to be holdin up so far

General maintainence will be your best bet. I'd start with all new fluids, filters, plugs and such. This will give you a pretty good baseline to start from.
