What do you think ?
I've got a '02 with 61K miles that I bought brand new and it is a XLT Supercab 4x4 off road. It has about every option you could get and I am having trouble getting in and out of it due to knee replacement surgery. I am looking to trade it in for a vehicle I can more easily get in and out of and have found the FJ Cruiser is the best fit but, there is no bed !! If, and please don't just say keep it, you were in the same boat as me, then would you give up Your Luke (as in cool hand) for a FJ or would you go Jeep or something else? I don't like the idea of changing vehicles but am coming into some $ and my trade-in value is only going to go down. I did not drive it very much over the past 11 years as I had a Company truck but am now retired and will traveling out West for Elk/Deer hunting in several states and will be racking up some heavy miles. Plus, my other half does not like riding in it since her stuff gets stuck in the back. Think about it and tell me what and why please.

What: Keep it.
Why: They discontinued them.

I would look into a rang rover. Those things kick ass offroad. Or you can go the route of choosing a jeep.
Just depends on your needs.

Re: What do you think ?
I second the range rover, they're badass, and up until a few years ago Ford owned land rover.

He mentioned he was having trouble getting in and out of his ranger. Wouldn't an f150 be worse?

Re: What do you think ?
My dad has bad problem with his knees. He can't even get into my 2000 XLT extended cab Ranger, but he has no trouble getting into his 2003 Chevy Silverado regular cab. Bigger door openings make a difference when you can't bend your knees that well.

Re: What do you think ?
Have you tried step bars? There are retractable ones that tuck up under the truck but come much closer to the ground when exposed than a regular nerf bar. The F150 could be easier to get in as the cab of the F150 is much taller which could mean the step up into the truck would be easier along with a step bar. What about Sport Tracs or an Avalanche?

Re: What do you think ?
i think you would get better responses if we knew WHY the ranger wasnt a good fit. Im not saying keep the ranger, but is the ranger too low/high for you? Is the cab too small? is it a combination? also price range would help.

Re: What do you think ?
Go with the fj. Its far more capable off road than a ranger and actually has a decent after market for it. Plus the v6 in it is easier to work on than the 4.0 in a ranger IMO. Plus its a Toyota, it will last a long time.
I would not go with a range or landrover. Expensive to maintain and they are prone to issues. Great vehicles if your pockets are deep though.

How about a Jeep Comanche? Its a Jeep with a bed. But you can only get older ones i think.
