Ranger MPG
Looking at a 2003 4.0 liter 5 speed auto Ranger and was wondering what kind of MPG to expect.
I drive for mpg and always beat the old EPA stickers by 3 - 8 mpg. The old sticker reads, 15 - 21 if I remember correctly. My 1989 Bronco II gets 20 - 25 mpg with the 5 speed. The best for that truck was 29 mpg..
What do the owners of the 2003 4.0 liter/auto truck get for mpg???

About the same here, and I'm neither a particularly conservative nor aggressive driver.

16.5 mpg
I've calculated every single tank of gas I've put in my truck, and with the exception of rare driving habits (EG: offroading, towing, etc.) my MPG has been 16.2 - 16.8 MPG probably 95% of the time.

My 03 4dr 4x4 4.0 5-speed got ~16-18 in town, and ~22 hwy.
I just bought a 2010 4dr 4x4 AUTOMATIC and am getting 14 in town, and 22 hwy.
I am really dissapointed in the automatic...should have gotten another 5 speed.
