I keep nothing in the bed of my 2wd. I do have a few 50 lb bags of sand in the garage incase we get a bad storm. The truck seems to grip fine in the snow.

it was 78 here yesterday lol

2 sand bags, 2 salt bags, aswell as a topper I made out of wood. In Saskatchewan we have had terrible blizzards and like week long snow storms, so without weight even with 4x4 its frustratingly hard to drive on deep wet snow and black ice.

bear in mind this is wild guess, but judging by how much the truck is squating i thinks its 400-500 pounds, its a heavy wet snow, you can really feel it while driving

i carry 3 60lb sand bags just because i dont use my four wheel drive unless i absolutely have to

Squat is exactly why I removed all the weight from the truck. My uncle had the 300 pounds of salt in the rear for years. I drove it 2000 miles home like that. I wanted to see how it sat without the weight.

None, get some really good tires like the new Duratracs and 2wd won't even need any weight. The only time I need 4x4 is in deep snow when I am playing out in the woods or on pure ice which nothing goes on ice.

my other truck is a 4x4, when i drove that in the snow it did pretty good with the BFGs and the cap on the bed, when i got into snow 8 inches or deeper it drove a lot nicer in 4x4, in 2wd it would get squirrely trying to push through the snow

I carry 200 lbs. of sand which seems ok for Buffalo and Rochester weather. Plus good snow tires.

I don't put any weight in my Ranger. I have 4wd and don't think I need it most days. At least I haven't found one yet. I have a 2wd Sonoma that I built a rack system for the bed that holds in cynder blocks or I throw in about 4 big bags of sand. It needs the weight in the snow though.
