Question No Spare tire?! What the Heck!

While installing a new toolbox on my truck I spent some time looking over my truck. Realized I have no Spare tire under the truck. I guess with the fact that the tires are oversized, the original owner just did away with the wheel and tire.

What do you think about having no spare? I have a couple cans of fix a flat in the toolbox. This is not a truck I will be traveling any further than about 30-40 miles from home so theres always someone who can come pick me up. I just feel uneasy about it. I know I can pick up a wheel at the pick n' pull but don't wanna spend any more money for a tire.

Thoughts?

get a rim from the pic and pull, then go to a local tire shop and get a wore out tire that holds air just for an emergency.

I dont have a spare either. I have been over 200 miles from home.

You can pick up a good used rim for cheap and then just throw on a good used tire. You can fit a 31" tire under the truck

i went for a while without a spare, even used to cross the state a couple of times a month without one, if you have some fix a flat or patches you should be good and then you can take it to a tire shop. i bought a retread as a spare so i would have a good a/t spare if i do need one and im not on a road

does "fix a flat" only temporarily repair tread type blow outs or will it also work on sidewall blow outs? Just wondering.

I always have a spare. As it can make a good day (hunting / fishing trip) into a real bad one in no time Flat! lolol.

Not so much if your close to home our in the city (as mentioned). But out here in the bush / cold / snow / rain. It could end up being a very very long day / walk / campout. Cell phone dosen't work alot of places, and could even become somewhat of an expense. Just not worth not having one.

Wow 33" Spare under your truck. Do ya got a pic for future refereance? I was able to just fit my 31" MTR Spare under my truck. Had to modified / bend retainer bars / guides though, to enable it to fit. Did you have to remove the two retainer bars / guides?

Like the Cap your running on your truck Alon.

It just kinda sits on the guides. When I pull the bed off next time i think i'm going to be cutting all of those out and building some new crossmembers/shock mounts.

Well I'll just rely on the fix a flat...and for the question about what it repairs, it will really only work for a nail in the tire, or something that would cause it to go "flat." Wouldn't fix a blowout by any means.
