Thanks! I would fill the oil filter ( I do that in my Vette) but the filter goes in sideways so the oil will just spill out!
It seems like everytime there is an issue, someone on this board is an expert. Scientist, Police Officer, Pilot, Horse Jockey, Mexican, anything. Then you get the guys that start spewing out credentials..."I have a 10 year degree in Neurological Science!" ..."I have a PhD in Engineering and Nano Science!"
Im starting disregard anyone who says anything about there credentials. Nothing personal, its just a build up that everyone on this board seems to be an expert on everything except Bullshit.
If you are a scientist, that still doesnt help your case. I know a ton of 'scientific' things I dont agree with. Probably doesnt help we hear things changing every 2 years like whether Red Wine will prolong your life or it will kill you in a year.
I have also lost 20 lbs by NOT following the food pyramid..the new AND old one. Those scientists are great.

If you actually are a scientist, Im sorry.
But it doesnt help your case here.

Oil isnt good for you to drink or get in your eye. But to touch it with fingertips (especially when a lot of our fingertips are dead, caliced skin fingertips) is fine.

Ok oil is bad for you...what about all the stuff made from oil...like those rubber gloves?
Oil is used to make rubber, tires, plastics, and the list goes on and on.

So don't touch any of those or you will get cancer!

Actually it's not the oil, it's the combustion by products suspended in the oil that can cause cancer.
If someone does oil changes all day long, I can see wearing gloves. An oil change every 3000-10,000 miles ain't going to harm you in any way unless the truck falls on you or you drink it.
Natural Light beer is probably worse for you than drinking used motor oil.

OK guys...

Why take a needless risk - it is a proven fact that you are at raising your chances of getting cancer from used oil.... so wear gloves.

yeah. ill take my chances rather than be afraid of everything every day of my life. Something new pops up every day that we should avoid. Maybe we should all just live in plastic bubbles.

Oh wait, plastic is made from oil. So we would all still get cancer and die.

Do you people know whats in half of the food you eat?! Jesus, most of you would only eat lettuce if you found out.
Im sure now that I say that, half of you are Farmers with PhDs in Agriculture that produce 100% of your own natural organic grass-fed free range non hormone food 365 days a year.

First time I changed my oil I covered my arm. The oil changer put a filter equivalent to a 3.0 filter on and when I removed it oil covered my arm. Now I just get a little if any on my fingers. A little oil isn't gonna hurt anything. Don't be a puss by wearing gloves

I can change my oil without lifting the truck or getting oil on my hands. I installed an oil drain valve. Quarter turn and I'm done. I'll try to post a photo next time.

Proven fact???? From where??? Find me a case like the conversation below:

Doctor to Patient: "Mr Johnson I'm afraid you have cancer and will soon die, theres nothing we can do for you."

Mr. Johnson to Doctor: "But doctor, I dont smoke, drink, or go tanning, how did i get cancer?"

Doctor : "You must have got it from getting oil on your hands when you change the oil in your truck, you should have worn gloves or paid a dealership shop to do it!"

-----

I would like to add that statistics show you are more likely to die in a car crash than in an airplane crash, but statistics now show you are more likely to die from changing your own oil rather than in a plane crash.
