Share Your Habits
A couple of habits I have formed while owning my ranger, I'm super OCD and was wondering if any body does the same things I do sometimes... Feel free to post yours
Never go over 55-60 on the freeway, only before a hill I'll get up to 60... I'm straight piped so 55mph sounds awesome very loud growl lol and the maybe 1 or 2 mpg better?
Always wait for the gear to grab before getting off the break after I shifted (Thats kinda natural though)
Never turn on A/C until freeway or 40mph+, sake of my motor working harder to accelerate with it on (random, I know)
When I first cold start in the morning before I actually start I put it on defroster on the minimal setting to get all the liquids moving in the system
Can''t think of anymore at the moment, share yours!

1)Keep it clean
2) anytime I get in a automatic (any vehicle we have besides my ranger) my left foot automatically reaches in to push a clutch before starting.
3) while driving an auto, I find myself constantly reaching down to shift gears, then I remember that I'm in a auto. Lol

I'm glad that I haven't developed that habit yet, but when I do drive the ranger, It's almost instinctive to push the tab in to get the key out. Don't even have to think about it anymore. Lol

Not letting anybody touch the steering wheel when it's off, because it locks up and mines a bitch to unlock.

I always lock my door before I start the engine. (Manual doors). I've also gotten into a morning routine where I would lock my door, start the engine, turn on wipers to get the water off windshield, turn on defroster, put on my seatbelt, turn up the radio, and exit my driveway at 5 mph. I do that in the same exact order every single day.

I always hit the 4x4 shift button when I first start it up, just to keep the motor working. It stops working if I leave it too long

Re: Share Your Habits
am i the only person not ocd about mine? haha i mean sure i like mine to be clean but around where i live there's no reason in washing it because it gets dust right back on it next time i drive it.
EDIT: forgot to post habits... i've got so used to driving my jeep (ranger needs work and haven't had time to fix it yet) that when i get in my ranger to move it so i can work on it i'm always reaching for the floor to shift it haha... and i tend to understeer on the ranger, as the jeep is so easy to steer.

Ive done this countless times. Once i was driving my friends car and kept grabbing for the shifter, and they looked at me like i was insane..
I also have a habit of leaving an automatic in drive because i drive a stick..

Me too! I can't remember how long it's been since I owned something with a shifter on the steering column. Took me a good week to get out of that little habit.
And the looooong wheelbase. I know ranger's aren't really big, but I'm used to being able to touch the back tire while sitting in the drivers seat LoL
Anywhoo.... my habit is turning on the cruise control right when I start out. Why is that even necessary? The cruise should just be "on" once the motor is running, imo. I use my cc all the time, it keeps my right foot in check.
