Re: So I bit and traded for a 2010 4WD
RSCblow, thanks for the interest.
I've not done anything with it as it's still in warranty. The way our weather has been this winter (just wet, no real cold) I'll probably not need the 4WD.
The one time I've been off road was spending a week in the woods back at the end of January. It was not miles into the sticks, but far enough to get a feel for the handling. I tried it 2wd and not touching the button, 4wd and not touching the button, and then both ways with t/c off.
The road was really mushy but I never came close to getting stuck in any of the scenarios. The fact is a lot of success in reasonable off road driving is driver skill and engine speed. That, and having the right tires on the rims.
My previous truck was 2wd with L/S and I hauled some significant loads without a problem. So at the bottom line if I never do anything to this one I'll get along fine with this truck. The 4wd will just be a plus for those occasions when the weather turns out of the ordinary nasty.
