Default Looking to buy a small truck..

Hey guys,

I just joined the forum to get some info on the Ford Ranger.

Hope I'm in the right place. Looks like I am.

I basically was wondering what common problems the 1990's Ford Rangers have. Just the common ones that you guys have come across and any other pointers towards which Ford Rangers to get . . .

Honestly, I am looking to buy one for under $2,000. I know that's not too much, but it's my budget. So yeah. Keep that in mind when suggesting a good model and year for me.

Thanks ahead of time guys.

Ryan

rear leafspring shackles and hangers rust, powersteering pumps are week. braklines on a 90's truck could be rusted. the m5od can leak out fluid and get trashed. the slave cylinders on the standards suck. if the upper ballsjoints are bad and they are original you need to change the control arms with them. the heater core on a 94 and old are 20 minute job to rplace the heater core on a 95 and newer are 10 hours to replace. 2.3 and 2.5 are tough motors the 3.0 are ok and the 4.00 are above average. if you are getting a 6 cyl try and get the 4.0
