Post Door jam sensor bypass

Door jam switch is broke, how do i bypass. Would taking the wires out of the plug and wiring them together work? The store doesn't sell the one I have.

what do you mean when you say it is broke. a lot of times if you spray wd-40 through the latch it solves the spray. update your vehicle profile and people might be able to tell you where you can get a switch

Sprayed wd40 did nothing. It started after the door was slammed quite hard one day. Not really sure what door it is, but most likely passenger

a lot of times it is the drivers side because it gets used the most. spray wd-40 on both doors soak it good. you can pull the dome light until you fix it.

I have the same problem, but I noticed that I just need to slam the door closed a little harder and it works.

My guess is that my problem is that the latch is loose or misaligned slightly...

But is sounds like you need to replace the switch.

But normally, if you want to bypass the switch, you need to either cut the switch off and connect the two wires... OR just cut the switch off. It depends on what kind of switch it is. I haven't looked at the Ranger switches at all.

every 6 months i spray the door latch opening with wd-40 and it works. the cold weather does not help. I have not had to replace the switch but i believe you pull the panel off and it is attached to the latch. they are cheap.

I took the door off got to latch and took it to the auto store to get a new one but the one they had didn't match mine, that was the only one they sold. I unplugged the switch and let it sit to see if that would work and nothing. I then put a paper clip into the plug to complete the circuit and nothing, I was going to wiring them together but I would ask on here first

I'd wait until someone can verify my "wire them together" theory.

It technically SHOULD work, but you never know what manufacturers decide to do.

The switches from aren't going to work, same one as from auto store. the plug doesn't fit the one on the truck. Could I replace the plug in the truck and then the part from the store? Do they sell that end of the plug?

I found the part on that site it was under a different name but its there.

Its called a door open warning relay not a door jamb switch. Would that be the problem?

it could also be your rear doors... I can't tell if you have reg. or XLT cab.... I know in mine it ended being the pass side rear door switch that set everything off when I drive.
