Default Rear disk brakes stock on 2010 Rangers?

My brother is in the market and was down at the dealers and all the 2010 rangers had rear disk brakes.

YES. 2010+ Rangers have 4wheel disc brakes, regardless of the model. Or as alot of people say, 4 weel dic breaks.

How's that Tom?

The real question is: will they bolt on to the older models?

My bro just bought a 2010 so I guess we will fined out.

The rotor looks bigger than the mustang one but I have not had a good look plus he has 15" rims and I have 16" rims so its hard tell without measuring it.

^^It's impossible without MAJOR precise welding. Though, it is possible the 2010 Ranger's have about the same size rear rotor as a Mustang rear rotor.

That would be a hell to the no. The entire housing is different and the brake flanges are TOTALLY different. 2010 was a axle housing redesign to accomidate not only the discs, but also the roll control system and the traction control. The disc's used have been described by folks has a hybrid system. combining an F150 rear disc set up with a mustang rear disc setup.

I can provide tons of pics and official maintainence diagrams, but too lazy to do so. lol.

But really.......who cares??? You can do Mustang rear discs for dirte cheape. Even better are rear Cobra rotors which isn't all too much more money than the regualar stang brakes. Your mission: Go to FRF's how-to section or simply search "cobra brakes". You will be amazed at what you find.

10.5" for the normal mustang rotors. The key is that you can have them up and running for under $200 (including absolutely everything needed for the swap, not just the brake parts). You won't come anywhere near that with a 2010 axle swap, assuming it is even compatible. With the mustang brakes, you dont need to swap the axle at all.

It would be hard to do a 2010 axle on a older ranger with all the news safety stuff on there. No one has figured how to make it work.
