Four Door Extended Cabs?

I'm a long time Ranger owner. I've owned an 83 V-6, a 92 4-cyl, and a 97 4-cyl, all regular cabs. I still have the 97, but with three kids, I occasionally find myself needing a couple of extra seats, so I'm in the market for an extended cab, preferably with 4 doors, probably in the '97 to 2000 year range.

Searching around on the net, I can't find any information on which models had 4 doors. Are there specific models that have 4 doors, and in what years were 4-door models offered?

And by the way, if anyone knows of one for sale somewhere near Wichita, please let me know! Thanks!

I believe the four door became an option in 98. Basically any extended cab ford ranger has the option for four doors so it's not limited to one specific model. I believe the only model where for doors came standard was on the FX4 Level II.

Thanks Tommy. Is there a way to tell if it has four doors from a picture (assuming they're closed)? It doesn't look like they have external handles, but I've only seen a few pictures.

look for the door seam near the back of the cab

Yup exactly. If it's a 4 door there will be door seam on the rear part of the supercab. Here's some pictures you can use to get a better understand...

Here is a 4 door ranger, you can see the crack/separation below the doors extending through the entire cab:

Here is a 2 door ranger, you can see the crack/separation below the doors STOPS after the main door:

Well, now I feel like an idiot! The door seam is the dead giveaway... I've seen ads for several rangers listed as having two doors, and in a few of them the seem is visible, as is the door handle. Seems some folks don't know what they have!
