Only ford vehicles I'd ever buy again would be 250/350 or a mustang. Ford kinda pissed me off that they didn't take the updated foreign trucks as incentive to build something completely new and way better. Look at the pony cars, the competition between the big companies drove them all to build awesome new muscle cars, I just wish this would happen to the small truck market. And as much as I hate to say it the new tacos are really nice. Sure their 10k more but u can honestly say they are worth that they perform awesome and look good too...

just look at the sales stats...the small truck market is a dying breed...and dodge is thinking about axing the challenger...its expensive and isnt selling well...(heard that straight from a dodge dealer)

I read the whole thread, you are beating a dead horse. Toyota is leading the pack on a dying segment, because Ford was smart, saw the writing on the wall and killed the small truck platform that no longer is a money maker. Why is Toyota clinging to it? Simple, they have to. They barely sold over 30,000 tundras this year compared to the over 300,000 f series trucks ford sold. Toyota had no choice but to keep their share of the truck segment any way they can. Around here Toyota trucks are few and far between, ford and gm fullsize trucks own the truck market here. The rangers done, it's time to accept it and move on.

The Taco has has a Toyota badge on it. People think its the best ever and will buy it. They are nice trucks but too big for me lol. And yes th Ranger is dead. Move on. Keep your truck running, accept Ford let the Ranger get old and then killed it.

But all I'm saying is people wanted it from Ford, they didn't get it, so they left Ford to go get what they wanted.
over the years peoples tastes have seemed to change from a small truck to more of a midsize truck and over the years Toyota Tacoma has gotten bigger and bigger to follow that demand. While Ford has never made their Ranger bigger, they made their Ford F 150 more gas efficient so I guess they mean to get rid of the Ranger and replace it with the V 6 F 150. I guess my point is if Ford was going to keep the Ranger around they would have to offer a beefyer option follow peoples demand for a midsize truck. people like a small truck, but they want to be able to haul more than 1500 pounds. Thats my theory.

Now thats the input/info I was looking for. There's nothing dead horseish about it, considering no one on this forum has mentioned anything like this before.

I like my ranger, I bought it because I wanted a small truck, didn't want an f150 its too big for what I need, a ranger was perfect. If mine ever gives up the ghost, and I buy a new vehicle, I'll pick up a Frontier or a Tacoma, cause I'm not buying a Focus, they are wayyy too small and I don't want to feel like I'm gonna be squashed if I get hit.

It would have been nice if they made some updates to keep up with other makers. I like the outside but it is kind of a bummer the inside has realistically not changed at all. Plus the last couple of years barely had any different options. Either way I love the Ranger. I have 2 2011's, a Regular cab 4cyl. and an Extended cab V6 both XLT 2wd trims. If they brought back the Ranger I would probably eventually buy another one.

F150s are watt too big for me. I mean yeah I do enjoy driving my dads F150 and our F-350 but after a while it's too cumbersome for me. They are hard to park, i keep thinking I'm going to run into people, they are hard as hell to put anything into the back of them because of the bed height, and they feel "loose" like more of a loose driving vehicle, whereas my ranger has a sportier feel.

On my third Ranger. All were very used before I got em and worked fine. Paid little drive them a lot and easy to load and unload my fishing kayaks and other sports equipment into and out of. Sold Ford products and impressed by all models but always saw Rangers traded in excellent condition or not traded at all. People love em and with so many out there I will always be able to find one.
