Why is there such a huge spectrum here? Has anyone compiled a list of things you can do to improve mpg?

With trucks spectrum will always differ greatly.
Especially with everyone living all over. You have to account for altitude, temp, landscape, traffic. Then there is the driver how they use it. How it's used the stuff in it. How there equipped tire size, gearing, trans, mods all this adds up quickly to have strong effects on mileage.

on a 300 mile trip to kentucky i averaged 20.75 going 55 the whole ways on the state routes. I probably would have been more if a good 30 something miles of that wasn't a steep hill. but i'm happy with that considering its a 3.0 (it hated the hills lol)

The hardest part of listening to anyone's fuel milage is how are they calculating it? Are they rounding numbers or guessing how much fuel there using.

Like some people were saying rangers arnt great on gas but I did learn this when your towing it's not that bad at all. Actually impressive.

I got 395km out of a tank towing a 5000lb boat (with trailer ) Speed was generally 110km/h at 2200rpm. I got up to 140 at one point with no concerns at all.

I have a 2007 sport with 4.0 liter auto.

I have been tracking mine to the tenth with an app. "Fuel log" pretty nice app, but I was surprised and only get 21.7 with my 2.3 2wd. It was a mix of city and hwy. Maybe something is wrong with my truck and haven't figured it out yet lol.

On all highway road trips I get roughly 23-24 mpg. But daily town driving I get about 18-19 mpg.

I get around 18 average most of the time - I get 14-16.5 city and hwy I get anywhere from 20-23.43 most of the time I can pull solid 22s on the hwy.

I really can't complain (2003 Ext cab / FX4 w/4.10s) its got 101K on it - although I wish the damn tank was bigger!!!!
