Re: Hows your GAS MILEAGE on ur truck? Let me know here.
It puzzles me as to why dvrich and Ordinary Biker attempted to turn my post, about using a Hydrogen booster for greatly improved gas mileage, into something absurd. My words were true, and I provided a link to show photos of the actual unit that I built, as well as other build information that would enable anyone to duplicate the unit, and offered this free of charge to anyone who might want to boost their gas mileage. I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't be interested in increasing their gas mileage from 24 mpg to 32 mpg, which is a 33.3% increase. Using small amounts of Hydrogen to boost gas mileage is not a fantasy. People have been doing this for many decades now. As I expect that everyone here knows, gasoline engines are not that efficient, and gasoline burns relatively slow. That is why timing must be advanced so that the spark plugs fire before top-dead-center. The introduction of small amounts of Hydrogen, which ignites instantaneously, helps the gasoline to burn more fully, thus deriving more power on each stroke while using less fuel. I didn't have to modify timing at all in order to use the booster, and the only modification necessary was to trick the Oxygen sensor. The reason for that is because the booster is breaking down water into Hydogen AND Oxygen, and of course the O2 sensor would try to compensate for the added Oxygen by making the fuel/air mixture richer, causing MORE gas to be added. I found a very simple solution for this dilemma, which was to move the O2 sensor back away from the exhaust stream a small amount. To do that, I used a "spark plug extender," also called a "spark plug non-fouler," and this worked out great. I simply chose the size of non-fouler having the same thread size as the O2 sensor. If anyone reading this thread has any serious comments or questions about the use of Hydrogen to increase gas mileage, I'd be happy to correspond. Otherwise, if no one is interested (or is only interested in attributing the use of Hydrogen as silliness) then I will not waste any more of my time talking about it here.

I checked mine on my last tank after seeing this thread. 258 miles on 15.8 gallons of gas for 16.33 miles per gallon. That's all rural road driving on 31x10.50 tires and a fresh tune-up. I expected closer to 20 MPG.

Fuel mileage threads attract trolls......20 mpg on a 4.0 Ranger just isn't going to happen.

I get between 19 and 21 on every tank depending on normal variables, over that last 4 years. Highest tank I ever got was 21.5.

19 -21 mpg. Mix of freeway commuting and local driving. Long trips have been as high as 26 mpg.

I average about 18.5 on the 2011. That will change with the bigger tires and the windshield visor. The 2019 is getting about 22 with the winter tires on. When it was driven down to Florida with the factory tires, it was getting 24.
